Michael Vega, D.P.M.


Michael Vega, DPM, is a skilled and compassionate podiatrist who formed West Beverly Podiatry Group in 1986. There are two locations in Duarte and Montebello, California. 

Dr. Vega graduated from the University of San Diego in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in biology. In 1982, he received his doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, which is now part of Kent State University. He completed his surgical and medical residency in 1983 in San Diego.

Dr. Vega was in the National Health Corp for three years, working in East Los Angeles.

Dr. Vega is a certified diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgery.

He was appointed by the Governor of California to the Board of Podiatric Medicine of California from 1989-1992. During this time, he served as President of the Board from 1992-1993.

Dr. Vega is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and the California Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA). He is a past member of the California Latino Medical Association and was a consultant for OrthoNet Medical.

Dr. Vega has clinical professorships at five different Podiatric Medical Schools, including Western University of Health Sciences. He has written five medical journal papers, including one that was published in Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics. 

Dr. Vega has participated in the founding of two local Wound Care Centers and is on staff at Beverly Hospital, Montebello, PIH Whittier, Monterey Park Hospital, and USC Arcadia Hospital.  

Dr. Vega is now CEO and Medical Director of West Beverly Podiatry Group.
